Meet the FAS management team:
Stacy is the Chief Executive Officer for Financial Asset Services, Inc. Stacy works in tandem with Senior Management on all planning, forecasts, compliance, financial strategies, and procedural matters that impact the firm.
Stacy joined FAS in 1997 and has held all lead Operations positions throughout her tenure at FAS before being named CEO in 2005. Her in-depth knowledge of the industry and focused approach has lead FAS in exceptional growth and success.
Committed to a slogan of “Welcome to Simple,” Stacy has continued to ensure clients of FAS have a positive, user friendly experience. She reviews the platforms making sure every aspect of the system is self-explanatory, eliminates user error and does not need an in-depth tutorial to commence use.
Under her leadership, FAS has joined two nationally recognized women business enterprises. FAS is a member of the Women Business Enterprise National Counsel (NWBENC) and National Women Business Owners Corporation (NWBOC).
Stacy attended the University of Oregon, Eugene where she acquired her Bachelor of Science degree. She holds a Real Estate Broker’s license in the state of California.
Stacy, her husband Scott, daughter, and son call Laguna Beach, California home. Stacy is an avid runner. On the weekends, you can find Stacy in Big Bear Lake, hiking in the summer months and skiing in the winter months.
Rod Surratt is the Chief Financial Officer of Financial Asset Services, Inc. He is responsible for oversight and direction of corporate finances and is FAS’ broker of record. Rod works directly with the firms’ Chief Executive Officer on internal controls and the Director of Risk Management on national licensing, analytics and compliance matters.
Rod started his REO career by establishing a team of Fannie Mae professionals to provide one of the first custom REO and valuation systems. This system became one of the highest quality platforms on the market, providing its customers’ flexibility, quality control and exceptional service.
In the 1980s, Rod and his wife, Sue, ran REO Professionals, one of the largest REO companies in the nation and were also pioneer members of REOMAC. Rod and Sue became Prudential’s number one real estate team in the nation.
Financial Asset Services, Inc. was founded and incorporated in 1997, focusing not only on meeting the individualized needs of our customers, but providing innovative in-house technology that allows FAS to exceed our customer’s specifications resulting in saving them both time and money.
Rod has a Bachelor’s degree at California State University, Fullerton with graduate studies in accounting and business administration from the University of California, Irvine and holds a Real Estate Broker’s license in the state of California.
Rod and Sue enjoy time with their grandchildren, scuba diving and travel.
With three decades of extensive experience in the financial services and mortgage industry, Sue, in 1997, co-founded Financial Asset Services, Inc. She provides the Board of Directors with informed perspective into strategic and operational opportunities and competitiveness.
Throughout her career, Sue has worked extensively with numerous agencies, including RTC, HUD, Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, along with private financial institutions.
Sue has been widely recognized for providing superior client operations management and customer service, improving company efficiencies and increasing market share. Over two decades, her involvement has guided Financial Asset Services, Inc through several economic boom and bust cycles.
In 1988, Sue co-founded REO Professionals (REO Pros) and was responsible for all aspects of marketing and communications for the company. She supervised the planning and development of all corporate marketing initiatives, along with the content of flow of all outbound communications. Under Sue’s leadership, she developed and launched REO Pros from a local state of California company to a nationwide leader in the development of non-traditional services to mitigate losses associated with non-performing loans.
Prior to obtaining her real estate license in 1979, Sue managed and led the day-to-day operations of a large real estate corporate law firm for 10 years.
Along with Rod, Sue spends time enjoying their grandchildren, along with boating and scuba diving at remote locations.
James Keith is the National Sales Director for Financial Asset Services, Inc. He oversees the day-to-day operations of the sales team. As the firms’ National Sales Director, James works closely with the Valuations, REO, Compliance and Technologies departments to ensure the highest level of service for our clients.
James comes to FAS with over two decades of financial services experience. His tenure includes high profile management positions at well-established firms. His sales, operations and executive background were valuable as the Market Director for firms such as JP Morgan Chase and Washington Mutual Bank.
James has worked in diverse and challenging markets, from California to Chicago to Atlanta. While at Chase, his group set high benchmarks for audits and integrity, while maintaining the highest levels of production. At Washington Mutual, his group opened 50 new locations in Chicago and 200 throughout Illinois state. He was also chosen on multiple occasions to provide presentations to current and potential investors for high profile firms such as, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, UBS Global, Fidelity Management & Research, Janus and T. Rowe Price.
James has a bachelor’s degree at Virginia Wesleyan University with a concentration in Economics and also holds a graduate degree from University of Virginia’s CBA program.
James, his wife and three children call Southern California home. He enjoys spending time with family and friends. James can be found surfing the beaches throughout southern California and volunteering with his family at numerous events.
Marisveidy Solis “Mars” serves as the Valuations Operations Manager at Financial Asset Services, Inc., playing a vital role within the management team. Mars’s journey through various departments within the company has equipped her with a deep understanding of internal operations and client service.
Before stepping into her current leadership role, Mars coordinated the Account Manager staff, facilitating order flow and ensuring seamless client integration into the company’s systems. Her attention to detail and hands-on training support were instrumental in optimizing client onboarding processes. She later assisted the Accounting Lead, helping to streamline daily responsibilities and improve efficiency. Mars also spent a significant period as the Operations Manager Assistant, where she worked directly with clients and vendors to resolve discrepancies, experience that laid a strong foundation for her current role.
As Valuations Operations Manager, Mars oversees the day-to-day operations of the Valuations Department and ensures effective coordination between staff and executive leadership and serves as the primary liaison for appraiser and consumer inquiries. Her ability to maintain clear and proactive communication is a key asset in supporting the department’s goals. Mars is well-versed in both federal and state regulations that govern Appraisal Management Company (AMC) accounting standards.
Outside of work, Mars enjoys spending quality time with her family, reading suspense and thriller novels, and watching horror films. She’s also a proud cat mom to her two beloved pets, Oreo and Bean.
Jimmy is the Director of Risk Management at Financial Asset Services, Inc. His purview includes oversight of daily administrative and regulatory affairs for the company.
Jimmy works in tandem with the Chief Executive Officer in reviewing, reporting and application of all corporate and licensing matters nationwide. Jimmy joined FAS in 2008 and as the firms Risk Manager, he works alongside the firm’s operational managers to address all escalated issues related to REO and valuation. He also acts as the firm’s liaison with the CFPB, Appraisal Foundation and GSE’s nationwide.
He brings two decades of operational management in mortgage lending, title curative, secondary marketing and servicing. Over the years, he has been a designated witness in real estate related litigations, as he is seen as an expert in mortgage lending, RESPA and loan delivery. In 2008, he published his first work entitled Real Estate Lending in the New Millennium. The book is an A-Z guide related to the mortgage industry.
Prior to joining FAS, Jimmy was Vice-President of Operations and Risk Management for Lehman Brother Bank, FSB, New York subsidiaries BNC Mortgage and Aurora Loan Services. Jimmy also held senior Compliance and Secondary Marketing management positions at firms such as California Financial Corp, Corewest Banc and IMPAC.
Jimmy, and his wife, Michelle call Orange, California home. Jimmy’s outside passion is music. Over the last two decades he has been involved in radio broadcasting. Jimmy acquired his FCC license back in 1988. Since then, he’s held broadcasting positions at some of the largest alternative radio stations in the country. He currently hosts a weekend radio program at KXFM in Laguna Beach. Prior to that, he was an on-air DJ KROQ FM in Los Angeles. Jimmy also writes articles for a variety of music news magazines.
Katy is the Quality Assurance Manager for Financial Asset Services, Inc., where she plays a vital role in maintaining the integrity and excellence of the Valuations Department. Working closely with the Operations and Risk Managers, Katy has been instrumental in implementing and refining quality control measures across internal teams and external vendors.
With over two decades of experience in office management within the Valuations and Default industry, Katy brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to her role. She holds a California Real Estate Salesperson’s license and possesses a deep understanding of the appraisal process, as well as industry BPO (Broker Price Opinion) standards and regulatory guidelines.
Born in Orange County, California, Katy moved to Maui at the age of 15, where she lived for over 23 years. In 2009, she played a pivotal role in Financial Asset Services’ Petition of Declaratory Relief in the state of Hawaii, which addressed the legal interpretation between appraisals and BPOs. Her contributions helped drive a change in legislation, ultimately enabling licensed real estate agents to complete BPOs for compensation across the Hawaiian Islands. Today Katy continues to be actively involved in FAS’ legislative analytics and oversight efforts.
Outside of her professional responsibilities, Katy enjoys spending time with her husband, embracing the outdoors through gardening, hiking, and relaxing by the pool with a good book. She also cherishes regular visits back to Hawaii to spend time with her children, grandchildren, and friends.
Adriana Macavei is the REO Manager at Financial Asset Services, Inc. [“FAS”], where she is responsible for managing clients’ assets according to investment preferences and goals. She has been with FAS for nearly two decades and over that time she has partnered closely with third party real estate agents, contractors, service providers and attorneys to create a streamline process to best serve our clients.
Along with her extensive knowledge of the REO platform, she also has a strong understanding of valuations and marketing strategies. Under her tenure, her passion for innovation has helped her work with the company’s IT team to implement FAS’ internal REO system to maximize value from the platform. Under her leadership, she has created documentation and training materials for staff.
Prior to joining FAS, Adriana worked as a software developer in Romania, where she earned a master’s degree in computer science. She also holds a California Real Estate license.
Adriana and her husband have two adult children, and she enjoys spending time with them as often as possible. She loves gardening, reading, knitting, crocheting, and spending time at the beach. She also enjoys visiting her family in Romania and traveling to new places.
